What are hybrid strings and what are they for?
Share
The most popular hybrids consist of a polyester or co-polyester string on the verticals, and a multifilament or synthetic string on the horizontals.
The advantage of this combination is that a soft string such as a synthetic string softens the rigid effect of a polyester string. Likewise, the stiff string placed in the verticals gives more durability to the stringing.
Hybrids of this type are a very good option for those who want to make the transition from a synthetic string to a polyester string. Remember that the verticals will always be the main strings, that is to say, the ones that will give the playing characteristics to the stringing.
Although there are many sets of hybrids already assembled in the market, we recommend that you try different strings, in different gauges and create your own combination to suit your needs and playing characteristics.
